After humble start, Butler Wick has shown big growth

Butler Wick’s history as a financial services firm has been characterized

by stability, integrity and strategic expansion.

From its humble beginning as a two-man brokerage house, the firm has grown

into a full-service investment institution with 20 regional offices and

several affiliate companies.

In recent years, the company has aggressively pursued new geographic

territory; western Pennsylvania is no exception. The long-time Franklin

office branched out to Oil City in 2005.

To meet the demands of clients farther east, a satellite office was opened

in Ridgway just over a year ago. The company recently pushed north of the

Pennsylvania state line and set up shop in Olean, N.Y. And with additional

offices in Sharon and Warren, the Ohio-based investment firm has

established a noticeable presence in that area.

Butler Wick now boasts over 200 employees.

The Franklin office is managed by James Williams, senior vice president.

Financial Advisors include Robert Ondrasik, and Vicki O’Neil. Janet Owens

and Jennifer Karns are registered sales assistants. It is located at 1284

Liberty St.

The Oil City branch, located at 45 Seneca St., is staffed by David Gunter,

vice president/branc manager; Joseph Morgan, financial advisor, and Karen

Wygant, registered sales assistant. Gunter and Morgan also work in the

Ridgway office, along with sales assistant Angel Weeter.

Butler Wick credits local roots, product diversification and personalized

service for the success of its business. Williams says internal

improvements such as state-of-the-art investment planning tools… along with

research, analysis and monitoring capabilities have enhanced client

relations as well as corporate operations.

“Our financial advisors are supported by an in-house network of accredited

professionals, including certified financial planners, chartered financial

analysts, investment bankers, insurance, trust and estate-planning

specialists,” Gunter said.

The local managers emphasize that Butler Wick offers the best of both

worlds, small enough to provide hometown, personalized attention, yet large

enough to maintain the product offerings and professional backing one would

expect of a large, national firm.

In addition to securities and mutual funds, Butler Wick provides fee-based

portfolio management, municipal financing, investment banking, a

comprehensive line of annuities life and health insurance products, plus

trust and estate planning services, enabling it to assist in a wide number

of financial endeavors.
