The health business — another linchpin of the economy — appears to be well in this region. Clarion Hospital says its bottom line is good, and five more doctors have joined the medial staff. At Grove City Medical Center, significant investment has been made in new technology. Titusville Area Hospital said it posted additional growth in 2008 through new technology and in the addition of more services. |

The opening of UPMC Northwest’s new rehabilitation center/transitional care unit and the appointment of a new president will highlight the hospital’s activities in 2009. Achievements in 2008 included the addition of a promising new form of cancer treatment, four awards and the addition of three doctors to the hospital staff. |

CLARION — The numbers show another year of advancements for Clarion Hospital. In the fiscal year which ran from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, the hospital reported 3,192 admissions, 18,656 emergency room visits and 351 births. |
