Section_E Health: It’s a big business Healthcare is big business in this region, employing hundreds of people and creating the need for many additional services. Of course, it also performs a vital mission for the area, allowing local residents to obtain nearly all their care close to home.
And as this section of the Business Review and Forecast edition shows, many of those important services are being improved and expanded. More construction is planned this year at UPMC Northwest, one of the largest hospitals in the area. Butler Health System is carrying out a major renovation and expansion program. Clarion Hospital has completed a successful year, while Titusville Area Hospital has made advances in heart care and other specialties. There also have been advances at Grove City Medical Center.
