Welcome to the new website for The Derrick! Here are some basic instructions on using the new site:

On the lefthand side of the screen is the Navigation Menu. This allows you to access all of the different sections of our site. The buttons at the top of the menu are for our news categories. By clicking on a button like "Community News", you can view all of the stories for that category from the newest issue of our paper.

Below the news categories, in the dark blue, we have buttons for our online services. You can use these buttons to place subscription and classified ad orders, view our periodic special sections, access submission forms for wedding announcements and other items, and more.

Below that we have our online Marketplace. These buttons lead to our current advertising from our print edition. For instance, you can click "Dining & Entertainment" to view all of the current ads from that category. At the bottom of the Marketplace section is the "Index" button. This will bring you to an alphabetical list of all of our advertisers.

Looking for a back issue? Click on the word "Archives" in the blue bar at the top of the site. Starting with the September 15th, 2009 issue, all editions of the paper will be accessible through this page. You can also use the search box to search the archives for a specific topic, author, or headline.

If you're interested in reading the paper as a PDF, the way that the stories are laid out in the print edition, click on the "Print Edition" button at the top of the screen. You can either access individual PDF pages of the newspaper, or you can "FLIP through the Digital Edition" and view the pages like a virtual newspaper.

Finally, please sign up for our Email Newsletter by entering your email address in the "Get News Updates" dialog box at the top of the screen.  By signing up for the mailing list, you will receive a notification email whenever the website is updated, so you'll never miss a new issue!
