46 confirmed H1N1 cases reported

The number of confirmed H1N1 flu cases has quadrupled in Venango County in the past week. The latest figures show Venango County has 46 confirmed H1N1, or swine flu, cases. Jobless figures released for September show a mixed bag among northwestern Pennsylvania counties. The September unemployment rates in Crawford, Forest and Venango counties have gone up since the August count. Editor: I am writing this letter in response to the letter regarding the standards of our local hospital, UPMC Northwest. I agree fully with the content of that letter, and I would also like to add that after very bad experiences with the hospital, we too are in hopes that something can be done to raise the standards and practices at UPMC Northwest.
