The second annual Flight of Fancy project to benefit the Allegheny Valley Trails Association by creating customized birdhouses will offer up its wares starting April 8 in Oil City. Thirty wood birdhouses, built by the Venango Toymakers, are being painted and decorated by area artists. Each birdhouse reflects a theme chosen by the artist. More...

HARMONY, Pa. (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania have detained a man they say fired two shots after officers arrived at his home to investigate a suicide threat. Motorists are paying the highest prices for gas since October 2008. Retail gasoline prices rose on Thursday on an expected increase in demand and as more expensive spring and summer blends of gasoline make their way to the pumps.
