CLARION - Former Oil City School District Superintendent Joe Carrico is looking forward to the new year.
That is because on Jan. 1, he will become the interim superintendent of Clarion Area School District.
Carrico will replace Mike Stahlman and will serve in the interim position until a permanent replacement is hired.
"Clarion is a great district," said Carrico. "This was a real easy decision for me."
As the interim superintendent, Carrico will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the district and implement plans adopted by the school board.
He served as the superintendent at Oil City from 2006 to 2014, when he retired.
Carrico had previously worked as the assistant principal at Rocky Grove High School until he relocated to the West Forest schools where he served as principal from 1979 to 2006.
Carrico holds a doctorate in education administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
