An Oil City man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the 100 block of East First Street on Nov. 28.
Oil City police said they stopped a green Chevrolet Malibu owned by a Tionesta woman because they knew the vehicle's registration was suspended.
The driver, Joel D. Balot, 43, of Oil City, was informed of the issues with the vehicle and he surrendered the keys for the vehicle to be towed, police said.
Police said that when they arrived at the towing garage to take pictures of the vehicle's additional safety issues, an assisting officer observed a chrome pipe and what he suspected to be methamphetamine in plain sight in the vehicle.
Misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substancemethamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Balot.
