Wildlife expert called to remove "gator" from pond

Eric McCool, a wildlife control and removal expert from Rocky Grove, puts a fake alligator back into a small pond Wednesday at a small riverfront community between Kennerdell and Emlenton. McCool was called to the pond after a part-time resident of the Scrubgrass Township community saw the "gator" in the shadows and tall grass of the pond when she approached to feed her fish. After a call to the state Game Commission in Harrisburg, she was transferred to the Venango County Game Commission office, and personnel there helped her get in touch with McCool. The resident, who asked not to be identified, said she has been losing several of the fish she placed in the pond, and with that knowledge and a quick glance at the gator, she quickly backed away from the pond and started making her calls.
