Police & Fire Calls
A Utica teen was injured after her vehicle caught fire around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday on Maple Hill Road in Crawford County.
State police said the 17-year-old girl was traveling east on Maple Hill Road when her vehicle struck a pothole, rolled onto its side and caught fire.
The driver and two passengers - 17-year-old Saegertown and Guys Mills girls - received minor injures and were transported to Meadville Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Two-vehicle collision
Two area residents were involved in a two-vehicle collision around 6:03 p.m. Monday on Route 208 in Venango County.
State police said James N. Hoffman, 63, of Harrisville, was traveling west on Route 208 when he lost consciousness due to a medical condition.
Hoffman was traveling at a slow rate of speed and his vehicle began to swerve back and forth across the roadway, police said.
The vehicle was observed by a personal friend of Hoffman, John L. Martin, 58, of Boyers, who was also traveling west on Route 208, police said.
Martin recognized his friend's vehicle and saw Hoffman's condition, police said. They said Martin maneuvered his vehicle in front of Hoffman's and began to slow down.
The vehicles impacted twice, and upon the second impact, Hoffman's vehicle veered to the left and exited the road, police said.
Neither driver was injured during the incident.
Clintonville volunteer firefighters and fire police assisted at the scene.
