Bomb scare arrest

An 18-year-old Rockland man was arrested Friday after an investigation of a bomb scare at his residence in June.

State police said a 911 call made around 12:30 a.m. June 30 warned that Jerad Marshall Himes had built an explosive device and had threatened to harm himself with it.

Later that day, the Erie Bomb Squad was activated, police said. They said the squad responded to Himes’ Coal City Road residence and disposed of the bomb.

Himes was charged Friday with creating a facsimile weapon of mass destruction and recklessly endangering another person, police said.

He was arraigned before District Judge Andrew Fish and lodged in the Venango County jail on $50,000 bail.

Teen injured in dirt bike accident

A 14-year-old Clarion teen was injured and flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh after a dirt bike accident around 12:40 p.m. Saturday in Clarion County.

State police said the boy was operating an unlicensed dirt bike, traveling east on McCleary Road just west of Route 574.

The boy turned to look back at another rider and lost control of the vehicle, police said. They said the boy’s helmet came off as he was thrown from dirt bike.

He struck his head on the pavement, suffering moderate injuries, police said.

DUI crash

A Marienville man was arrested after a DUI crash around 5:59 p.m. Friday on Route 2005 in Forest County.

State police said Richard V. Orzechowski Jr., was traveling south on Route 2005 when he lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle traveled off the road and struck a bank, police said. They said Orzechowski was able to drive the vehicle to his residence, a short distance from the scene.

He was located at his residence shortly after the accident was reported and was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Online thefts

Tionesta state police are investigating online thefts from several area businesses between 8 a.m. Tuesday and around 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a suspect accessed the bank accounts of Haller’s Sporting Goods of Tionesta, and Subway restaurants in Tionesta and Titusville through the Internet.

The suspect then set up electronic transfers of funds from the accounts, police said. They said the amount of money taken has yet to be determined.

An investigation will continue, police said.

Franklin man injured

A Franklin man was involved in a one-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of Sugar Lake Road and Route 768 in Crawford County.

State police said Wayne S. Donaldson, 22, was traveling east on Sugar Lake Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a wall, a street sign and a tree before rolling over.

Clarion crash

A Clarion man crashed his vehicle around 4:40 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of S. Fourth Avenue and Franklin Street in Clarion.

State police said Jason A. Goodman, 23, fell asleep at the wheel while he was traveling north on South Fourth Avenue approaching the intersection.

The vehicle traveled off the road and struck a utility pole, police said.

Rimersburg woman injured

A Rimersburg woman was injured after a one-vehicle accident around 5 p.m. Wednesday on Route 68 in Clarion County.

State police said Elizabeth A. Marguglio, 66, was traveling south on Route 68 when her vehicle left the roadway.

The vehicle then traveled along the berm, re-entered the roadway, crossed the northbound lane and exited the road again before striking a tree, police said.

DUI arrest

Robert Antill, 44, of Titusville, was arrested for DUI around 1:33 a.m. Saturday on Route 8 in Venango County following a traffic stop.
