Obituary - Lucille B. Weaver

Lucille B. Weaver, 83, of East Hickory, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the Snyder Memorial Health Care - Windsor House of Marienville.

She was born Oct, 9, 1924, in Tionesta, the daughter of the late Elten W. and Rachel F. (Galmish) Blum.

On Jan. 19, 1950, in Tidioute, she married Lee. A. Weaver, who died April 5, 1986.

She graduated from Tionesta High School in 1942 and was the oldest continuous member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Tionesta.

She loved her community and was a member of the Forest County Historical Society, the Forest Grange, the American Legion Auxiliary of Endeavor and the VFW Auxiliary of Tidioute.

She was employed for a short time at Crator Manufacturing in Tionesta and worked as a clerk at Blum's General Merchandise and Appliance until retirement.

Lucille enjoyed knitting, crocheting and flowers.

Surviving are a daughter, Dottie L. Meisel of Marienville; a grandson, Andrew J. Meisel and his wife, Amanda, of Knox; two granddaughters, Bonnie L. Meisel and her fianc‚, Dustin Bottone, of Limestone, N.Y. and Julie A. Meisel of Flora, Ind.; a brother, Paul W. Blum and his wife, Lois, of Tionesta; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia F. Whitton and Mary C. Hall.

Friends will be received from Noon to 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Samuel Mabugu officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Wimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 389, Tionesta, 16353, to offset the cost of the burial.
