Clarion EDC hires specialist

Debbie McNerney is named economic development specialist.

CLARION - Clarion County Economic Development Corp. has appointed Debbie McNerney as an economic development specialist.

Her duties are to call on existing wealth-generating companies in Clarion County.

The purpose of the calls is to meet with the chief decision-maker at each company to identify their short-term and long-term needs, develop a plan to help meet these needs, and to follow through with the company until the needs are met.

The corporation's goal is to meet with more than 150 companies in the county on an annual basis - a function in line with the county's strategic plan, Forward Clarion County.

Brad Ehrhart, the agency's executive director, said McNerney was selected from "a very competitive field of over 40 candidates."

She worked for the last eight years as a licensed real estate agent in Venango County and has 10 years experience as an administrative assistant with responsibilities in accounts receivable, accounts payable, insurance, and human resources.

McNerney recently returned to Clarion University where she earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration with a summa cum laude honor.

The College of Business Administration also recognized her as the outstanding real estate senior for 2008.
