A house fire that began around 5 p.m. Sunday at 395 Eagle Rock Road in President Township required more than ten fire departments to assist at the scene that was still active as of 8 p.m. a Venango County 911 dispatcher said. 

Dispatchers said during the initial call that the fire began in the residence's wood burner and spread to the house.

There has been no report of injuries according to dispatch.

President Township, Cornplanter Township, Seneca, Tionesta, Rouseville, Reno, Pinegrove Township, Pleasantville, Cherrytree Township, Oakland Township and West Hickory fire departments were on scene as of 8 p.m. as well as Community Ambulance Services, dispatchers said. Washington Township VFD was on standby.



HARRISBURG–The state Department of Health on Saturday announced Clarion County reported three new cases of COVID-19 (two confirmed and one probable), bringing the county total to 110 cases (98 confirmed and 12 probable).

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association decided this afternoon to move forward with the fall sports season, rejecting Gov. Tom Wolf’s recommendation that all youth sports be postponed until 2021 to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Venango County 911, flooding has been reported throughout the region following a downpour between 5 and 7 p.m. today.
