Funny quips still helping us get through all this

Seventh Street and Smedley Street elementary school students in Oil City have planted new gardens at the entrances to each school. The colorful rock gardens are composed of rocks the students attending classes face-to-face painted during the first week of school. Art teacher Pam Marterella, with the assistance of the South Side Home & School parents, asked families to deliver rocks to the school for the project. The students, said Marterella, want to keep the cheerful community garden growing and are asking for additions to the project from district residents. Cyber and Virtual Academy students are encouraged to paint a rock for the entranceway. (Contributed photo)

How amazing that we zoomed from March, the debut of the coronavirus pandemic, right into what will be autumn next Tuesday.

While there continues to be a myriad of challenges, many of the darkish doom and gloom type, there is a slow but steady feeling that perhaps we are moving into a lighter phase.
