Dear Doctor: My daughter has a 2009 Ford Escape with 125,000 miles. Sometimes after making a turn (especially when the turn is at the bottom of a hill), it seems as if the SUV is not getting fuel and she has to really punch the accelerator to keep it running. After a hesitation, it gets fuel and seems OK. It doesn't happen every time, maybe a few times a week. A friend of mine says it might be a throttle body. Any thoughts? - Kerry
Dear Kerry: Dirty throttle bodies are often overlooked in any vehicle, especially when mileage is over 60,000 miles. This is a good place to start, along with installing new spark plugs after the cleaning.
