IA Construction Corp. of Franklin paved a section of the bike/walking trail in Oil City’s West End on Wednesday. The paving was done in conjunction with moving the current recreation trail off a section of West First Street, from Darr to Osborne streets, and onto an unused railroad right-of-way. The newly paved section connects the Oil City Marina to the Justus Trail, and the asphalt surface completed a continuous off-road recreation trail to Franklin, said Kelly Amos, community development director in Oil City. It forms part of the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail. Amos said the second phase of the project will be the placement in the spring of primitive campsites in the vicinity of the marina.
