State House passes bill on state centers

HARRISBURG — Legislation designed to prevent the closure of any state centers, including Polk, has passed, according to a news release from state Rep. Lee James' office.

The amended measure, state Senate Bill 906, passed in the House by a vote of 139 to 55 and now goes back to the Senate for a concurrence vote before it is presented to Gov. Tom Wolf for his signature.
