Franklin City Council approved the city’s tentative 2022 budget Monday following first readings of budget-related ordinances.

The spending plan, which calls for a proposed tax hike of .2 mills for city residents, was developed with “cautious optimism,” according to the six-page budget statement provided by city manager Tracy Jamieson.
