Polk State Center issue unifies a community
The impending closure of Polk State Center is certainly devastating news to the center's residents, its employees and to the region's economic welfare, as well. Those effects of imminent closure are things that everyone is in agreement with, regardless of their political affiliations. It was all quite evident during the rally on Labor Day morning that drew about 500 supporters to the Venango County Courthouse, as both Republican and Democratic supporters rallied toward a common goal: keeping Polk State Center open. Conversations took place between supporters and detractors of President Donald Trump, but those folks were able to put political differences aside for the good of all those involved with the center. Now, if only that same feeling of unity could be a part of daily living.
