A former Oil City man was hit and killed by a train near Pittsburgh on Monday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiners Office told the newspaper.

Francis Whalen Connelly, 31, of Millvale, was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:10 p.m. from blunt force trauma to the head and trunk area, the office said.
