A Delaware man suffered minor injuries when his vehicle struck a deer at about 11:45 a.m. Monday on Route 322 in Wayne Township, Crawford County.

Franklin state police said Robert Martin, 80, of Laurel, Delaware, was headed east on Route 322 when his vehicle hit the deer that came across the roadway.

Martin had minor scratches caused by the airbag deploying, police said. He didn't require transport to a hospital, according to police.

Venango County sheriff's department personnel who came upon the crash on their way to Erie County assisted at the scene. Cochranton volunteer firefighters also assisted.
