Sugarcreek Borough Police made 172 motorist contacts and logged an additional 80.25 patrol hours during the statewide Buckle Up PA program that ran from May 13 to June 8.

Police said they issued 172 traffic citations, including 119 for speeding, four for driving with a suspended license, one for driving under the influence of drugs and 37 citations “classified as other summary violations.”

Sugarcreek will join other departments in the state during an Aggressive Driver Wave that will take place July 8 to Aug. 25.
