A utility pole on Route 417 in Oakland Township was sheared in half after a one-vehicle crash at about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Franklin state police said a Ford Mustang driven by Nathaniel J. Brown, 20, of Titusville, left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck the utility pole head-on, shearing it in half.
