With sports leagues and organizations across the country shutting down for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association followed suit on Thursday by suspending the the state basketball tournaments and the Class 2A boys and girls swimming and diving championships for a minimum of two weeks.

"The board of directors are committed to promoting an environment of healthy athletic competition that is consistent with current health department and the Center for Disease Control guidlines," PIAA Executive Director Dr. Robert A. Lombardi said in a press release.
