CLARION — Moniteau’s Emma Covert earned medalist honors after firing a 45 on Tuesday as the Warriors claimed the eighth Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference girls golf mega match of the season.

Covert’s teammates, Kendall Sankey (47) and Mariska Shunk (51) helped the Warriors to a team stroke total of 143, 15 shots better than the only other team with three golfers in Cranberry.

For the majority of the first quarter of Friday night’s homecoming game at the Franklin High School field, the Knights played the visiting Dragons to a 0-0 tie as both defenses proved to be stout, allowing only one combined first down.
