Franklin's baseball team, along with the Cranberry softball team, had their PIAA semifinal playoff games canceled on Monday due to the threat of inclement weather across the state.

Coach Brian Schmidt's Knights will now face District 6 champion Mount Union today at 3 p.m. at Showers Field in DuBois in a Class 3A matchup while the other semifinal contest in Class 3A between Lake Lehman and Notre Dame Green Pond was also moved to today at 4:30 p.m. at Pottsville High School.

The two winners are scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at Penn State University's Lubrano Park.

Coach Glenn Barcinas' Berries also have a new time for their game today with District 7 runner-up Frazier as they will meet at 2 p.m. at Slippery Rock University in the Class 2A playoffs.

The other semifinal in that bracket featuring Susquenita and Brandywine Heights was also moved to today at 4 p.m. at Lebanon Valley College. The two winners will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Penn State University's Beard Field.
