Looking to recover after a pair of humbling defeats, the Franklin Knights football team saved one of its best performances of the season for Homecoming against visiting General McLane in a Region 5 matchup on Friday night at the Franklin High School field.

Head coach Matt Turk’s Knights played better from the start as they hung with the Lancers for most of the first half before a couple of bad breaks had them down 30-7 at halftime. But, they stepped up their play on both sides of the ball in the second half, using a pair of big plays from sophomore Wyatt Bell to give the home crowd plenty to cheer about despite the 37-21 final score.
