Knox/Rimersburg/Emlenton's Drew Keth tallied a pair of singles to go along with two RBIs, including the go-ahead run-scoring single in the fouth inning, to lift the KRE 12U All-Stars over Franklin, 7-3, Saturday afternoon at Lt. Col. Jack P. Williams Field.
After KRE made it 2-0 in the opening inning of the game, Franklin's Ryan Sandok reached on an error that brought home two runs to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom frame of the first. Keth led a KRE rally in the fourth that made the game 4-2. KRE added three more runs in the following inning.
Darius Cassano scored in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 7-3, but the Franklin bats went cold, allowing KRE to advance to the loser's bracket finals on Monday against Oil City at 6 p.m.
