Oilers aim for title shot

After clinching back-to-back one-point victories in tightly contested playoff games, Oil City's football team has advanced to the final four of the PIAA District 10 Class 4A playoffs. The Oilers are set to square off with defending Class 4A state champion Thomas Jefferson on Friday at 7 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson High School.

Coach Dan York's Oilers (10-0) trailed with over four minutes to go in last week's quarterfinal contest against Upper Moreland until quarterback Holden Stahl led a charge ending in a five-yard scamper to take the lead. But, just like in the first-round game against Juniata the week before, the Oilers had to rely on their defense in the waning minutes.
