BUTLER - Dan Boehme slammed three hits, including a double, and Sam Georgiana pitched a complete-game five-hitter on Monday as Seton LaSalle posted a 9-1 victory over Lakeview in an opening-round PIAA Class 2A baseball game at Pullman Park.
The Rebels (20-2) took control of the game early, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning, four more in the second and another in the third to go up 6-0.
Coach Bill Beith's Sailors, who finished the season at 17-5, scored their lone run in the fourth. Brett Beith was hit by a pitch leading off the inning and stole second. He later reached third on a passed ball and scored on Brandon Partridge's two-out RBI single.
Seton LaSalle answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning and tacked on another run in the fifth.
Georgiana did not walk a batter and struck out eight.
Jacob Verner added a single and double for the Rebels, who collected 14 hits, while Cam Colwell and Dom Popa had two singles apiece.
Partridge led the Sailors with a pair of singles. Chipping in with one single each were Clay Williams, J.P. McGee and losing pitcher Trent Milliren.
